Nokia N91
Finally launched after a long wait, the Nokia N91 has a whopping 4GB hard drive, capable of storing up to 3000 songs. It also boasts a 2-megapixel digital camera, and integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability, making it one of the most feature-rich cell phones ever to hit the market.
In terms of design, the N91 has a cool and smooth stainless steel body with an illuminated keypad, easy-to-use thumbstick, and well-placed dedicated music controls. On the downside, however, this phone will seem quite bulky to anyone who’s used to carrying around an iPod Nano or Motorola RAZR.
Another drawback of packing so many features into a single device is the long boot-up time, with a wait of up to 30 seconds before you see the home screen.
Voice quality on the N91 is adequate but not perfect, with a few dropped calls here and there. Battery life, meanwhile, is relatively strong, with four hours of talk time, or about ten hours of listening to music without needing to recharge. If you plan to do a lot of mobile web surfing, however, the battery might die a little quicker.
At first glance, the Nokia N91 seems to have everything, and that’s not far from the truth. If you need to carry thousands of songs in your pocket, this hot new handset can’t be beat. At $599, however, it likely won’t be the phone of choice for low to mid-range customers.
